Mark Lappin

Director of UK/Netherlands Exploration and Subsurface, Centrica Energy Exploration & Production

 

Mark has almost 30 years’ experience in upstream oil and gas businesses, working with ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and DART Energy.

Originally a geologist, Mark worked in many basins around the world and from early exploration to mature production in a series of technical and management roles.

In July 2013 Mark moved to Centrica in role of Director of UK/Netherlands Exploration and Subsurface. Previously, Mark acted as Europe General Manager at DART Energy and his tasks including bringing pilot production on-line and progressing development in Scottish licences and continuing exploration programme in UK and Poland. Prior to this, Mark acted as Germany Exploration Manager for ExxonMobil with a portfolio of unconventional gas acreage including CBM and Shale Gas.

Alasdair Buchanan

COO and MD, Senergy Energy Services

 

Alasdair Buchanan is Senergy’s Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of the Group’s Energy Services division. He joined the company in April 2012 and is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations.  Mr Buchanan was formerly Vice President UK with a large, global energy services company and was previously Senior Director of Strategy in Houston.  He has more than 30 years of international operations experience, having held a number of senior leadership roles with global energy companies, including Vice President of International Operations, Regional Operations Manager for Europe and Africa and Country Manager for Europe and Africa as well as for Asia Pacific. Mr Buchanan’s previous roles have taken him to the US, Asia, Europe and Africa.  A long standing member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Mr Buchanan began his career as an engineer after graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc Honours in chemical engineering.

General Manager for Onshore Drilling Support Services, ASCO

 

Davie McFarlane is ASCO’s General Manager for Onshore Drilling Support Services. He joined ASCO in April 2013 to establish and grow the company’s onshore drilling support business in Europe. Prior to joining ASCO Davie worked for Composite Energy’s drilling subsidiary Geometric Drilling as Support Services Manager, delivering support services on over 50 onshore wells across Europe for companies including ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Nexen and EDF. He has extensive experience in rural traffic planning, rig mobilisations and planning challenges faced by onshore operators regarding operating vehicles in sensitive areas.

Country Vice President - United Kingdom, Halliburton

 

David Mladenka is Halliburton’s Country Vice President for the United Kingdom. Prior to this appointment, he was Area Manager for the Northern Gulf, based in Kuwait.

Mr. Mladenka joined Halliburton in 1983 as a Wireline and Perforating Engineer. He worked his way up the ranks through international assignments as a Business Development/Technology Manager for West Africa (based in Lagos, Nigeria) and later for Saudi Arabia; and as a Senior Director for Project Management; and a Global Account Manager, based in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Mladenka holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston.

North Sea Group Business Development Manager, Schlumberger

 

Jorgen Berg is North Sea Group Business Development Manager for Schlumberger Oilfield Services and a Director of Pathfinder Energy Services and serves on the Schlumberger UK board of Directors.

He has a career spanning over 25 years in the Oil and Gas industry and joined Schlumberger in 1991 as a Field Engineer for Wireline & Testing in the North Sea.

He has since held a number of line management and supporting roles in Aberdeen, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Houston, Paris and the Far East.

He studied Mechanical Engineering at Esbjerg Technical College in Denmark and is a member of SPE, the Chartered Management Institute UK and a member and ambassador of British Mensa.

Events Director, The BIG Partnership

 

Katrina joined the BIG Partnership in 2005 to establish and lead the events team and is now responsible for delivering events for the company across the UK and overseas. An experienced event manager with over 17 years experience, she has an extensive background in developing and running large scale events and will be the lead contact for delivering the Unconventional Gas Conference 2014.
